about

Every now and then in between major releases, I find myself with a handful of songs that didn't fit the overall mood of whichever release... In this instance, these songs were written during the Vectrex hallucinations sessions.

Strangely enough, these songs actually make for a cohesive release in their own right. Where Vectrex was more of a gloom and doom post punk goth record, I left my heart in a dumpster is a combination of hardcore punk and electronic experimentation...

In hindsight, I didn't think much of this collection until I began remastering the back catalog, and then it hit me that this is one of the purest and fully realized early CDHS record, as it has what I feel to be many of the signatures of the Cats sound up until that point... aggressive punk, moody minimalist pieces, chaotic hardcore, and even some pop sensibility thrown in a few tracks for good measure.

about

cats don't have souls Albany, New York

Cats don’t have souls started off as a minimalist deathrock duo and polluted itself into a drunken and deranged sound experimental prog obsessed entity with a personality disorder. Please be considerate of others and don't play this too loud.
