I wanted to write a song that would if it could make it snow.

A false sense of security
lulling us to sleep
best to ignore the promise of hope
because optimism is cheap

Now the devil took hold
get used to the cold because he's got us all by the balls
and everybody knows
hoe it goes
everything stops
nothing grows
as we celebrate death in the fall

Spirits sink through uncharted layers of hell
wandering alone and cold
threw our last wish down the well

Smile it's only isolation
in the most unforgiving iteration
breathe out can you see your breath ?

Have you ever even just in jest prayed for death ?

Consistent hue
midnight blue
starlit backdrop overhead
Cycling phrases chatter
the voice in our heads

The sacred and profane
molded by the insane
but nothing ever seems to hide the shame
the saints are dancing
these occult rituals
lighting candles
praying for someone to take the blame

What's it matter ?
This shivering serenade of Febuary
Illusions shatter
This hypothermic parade of misery

Waited hours
for the rain
it all went wrong

Sheets of ice
encase everything
on the street
drizzle down rain

it's still below freezing
still not getting used to natures abuse
Strike with indirect precision
survival is the only aim worth striving for

Just wait it out
just ride it out
while life defrosts
